June Gloom

Seeing as how this is only my second June in New York City I didn’t know at all what to expect. As far as I can tell, Spring here is quite fickle. Not your usual April showers bring May flowers. April seems to be rainy and chilly, May was a month full of surprises. With dry heat a random weekend then thunderstorms and many humid days, Weather On The One became my most trusted ally.

Now it’s June and I've been hoping for more consistent, warm weather. Five days in and I’m out of luck. Warm on Tuesday, humid on Wednesday, cool on Thursday, and rainy on Friday, this month has begun with a full range of seasons.

Luckily the grayish yet humid weather is perfect for sheer, lightweight, flowing tops. You can wear them with painted on white pants for a chic spring style or distressed jean shorts to rock Boho casual. I like to wear mine with loose yet tailored shorts for a menswear contrast. It’s nice juxtaposition of the feminine, billowing blouse against my tweed shorts. The gold gladiators are for day but at night I wear chunky brown platforms.

sheer blush blouse: Diabless Boutique, brown tweed shorts: F21, gold gladiators: Steve Madden, Wayfarer: Ray Ban, gold jewelry: grandma
